What to Expect
We have a dedicated area for little ones in our reception.
Your family will feel comfortable and welcome the moment they arrive at Palmyra Family Dental. Music is playing gently in the background, and you’ll see paintings from local artists hanging on our walls that are available for purchase. Children are welcome to play in the kids’ corner with books, toys and colouring pencils while you relax until coming back to the surgery promptly at your appointment time.
New Patient Information
Our receptionist will give you the necessary medical history forms to fill out. Then you’ll be brought to see the dentist. Together, you’ll discuss what brought you in today. Any needed x-rays will be taken depending on what your problem is. You’ll receive a thorough examination and cleaning.
If further treatment is necessary, we’ll discuss those options with you. If time allows, we’ll start your treatment right away. Otherwise, we’ll schedule a longer appointment to proceed with treatment.
Please plan on spending about 45 minutes with us on your initial visit.
Insurance and Coverage Information
Because we believe quality dental care should be affordable for everyone, all health funds are accepted at Palmyra Family Dental. A HICAPS machine is available on-site for your convenience, so we’ll process your claims immediately while you’re here. The other programmes we participate in include:
- Child Dental Benefits Schedule
- Department of Veterans’ Affairs scheme
- HCF Teeth for Smiles programme
- NIB health insurance
The Teeth for Smiles programme offers a certain number of treatments covered gap-free for its members. All check-ups, cleanings and x-rays are given at no cost.
